Actually I've been thinking about that, the next version might be based on Miranda, the multi-protocol messenger... I've got a pre-built one I'm testing, and it's pretty nice. The big bonus is it's portable; it can be put on a USB key and people can take it with them and use their communicators wherever they are, without leaving all kinds of info about what they were doing, since it doesn't store any info on the computer.
It's pretty cool.
Webcams are already included now with the modified version I'm putting together, and it's set to get into our chatroom, and also to use ICQ, MSN, and/or AIM, or not, if you don't have em.
I'll probably have to get a new cameraware package soon, and mod that to include in it.. but it's pretty far along, I use it every day
