We released a new patch for the PTS today, and we’d like to invite you to playtest Steel Dawn quests, Holiday Scorched, new item rewards, a future Aim Assist feature, and continue playing with C.A.M.P. Shelters. We’ve also added premade character to your PTS account, and it’s stocked up with everything you need to try out upcoming reward items more easily. Read on to catch highlights from today’s update.
Today’s update for the PTS brings our upcoming Steel Dawn quests to the game so that you can play through them, and then share feedback and bug reports on your experiences.
Here are some details to help you get started with the Steel Dawn questline:
The Steel Dawn Update will bring a variety of new items to the game as rewards that you will be able to earn from Steel Dawn quests, Daily Ops, and Holiday Scorched. All of the new rewards have been unlocked on a pre-made character that we’ve added to your PTS account (more details below) so that you can try them out immediately. Here’s a list of the new rewards:
To help out with testing the new rewards mentioned above, as well as playtesting other content in the PTS, we’ve added a pre-made character to all accounts who have previously accessed the PTS. Here are the details on that character:
We’re testing out a new Aim Assist feature, and we’d like you to give it a try and let us know what you think. It is toggled ON by default, so it will be enabled when you log into the PTS. Aim Assist can be turned off in the Settings menu.
In case you haven’t had the chance to check out C.A.M.P. Shelters in the PTS just yet, they are still available for playtesting, and we would love to read your continued feedback and collect your bug reports. C.A.M.P. Shelters are instanced, underground interiors that you can add to your C.A.M.P. and build in to make them your own. We’ve posted the following Shelters details previously, but copied again them below if you need a refresher.
Thank you very much for your participation in the PTS, we’re looking forward to hearing what you think!
Welcome back to Inside the Vault! This week, we’re sharing a preview of what’s in store for the community on Bombs Drop Day, with three in-game events that will begin next Thursday. A little later today, we’re planning to update the Public Test Server to begin playtesting for Steel Dawn quest content. We’re also sharing a reminder to claim some riches from the Mole Miners during this weekend’s “Hunt for the Treasure Hunter” event. Read on to catch all the details.
We remember October 23 every year as the day the bombs dropped, when life on earth changed forever, and mere survival became much more challenging for those who remained. The fact that you not only made it through that harrowing time, but emerged from Vault 76 to begin building new lives in Appalachia is cause for celebration!
Starting next Thursday, October 22, we’re honoring Bombs Drop Day with a trio of in-game events, including Double XP in all game modes, double S.C.O.R.E. rewards from your Daily Challenges, and 25% off any legendary weapons and armor you buy from Purveyor Murmrgh at the Rusty Pick. Join the Bombs Drop festivities next weekend to level-up twice as fast, rank-up with super speed, and fill your armory with some new legendary gear. Here are the details:
Over the past couple of weeks, players stormed the Public Test Server (PTS) to share their thoughts and bug reports with us for the upcoming C.A.M.P. Shelters feature. Now, we’d like to invite everyone who owns a PC copy of Fallout 76 through Bethesda.net to join us in playtesting new Steel Dawn quest content the PTS. We’re aiming to add the new quests in an update for the test server a little later today, and we will post in the PTS forum as soon as that patch is available. We will also share instructions on how to begin those quests, as well as some key areas where we’re looking for your feedback. As a reminder, while there is no Non-Disclosure Agreement this time, we ask that you please warn others about story spoilers when discussing the quests outside of the PTS forum.
Thank you once again to all of you who have shared thoughts on C.A.M.P. Shelters with us. We’re still actively discussing everything you’ve posted so far (and admiring your awesome screenshots). Even though we’re now kicking off quest content playtesting, Shelters will remain available, so please keep the feedback and bug reports coming. We will see you in the PTS!
Last week, we shared details on the changes we’ve made to our “Hunt for the Treasure Hunter” events based on community feedback, and now the hunt is ready to begin! Starting a little later today, Treasure Hunter Mole Miners will breach the Wasteland’s surface to scour the land for riches. Seek them out in all regions of Appalachia, take down any Treasure Hunters you find, and then open the Mole Miner Pails they drop to claim some loot for yourself. You can also gather your Caps and take them to vendors around Appalachia to purchase Empty Mole Miner Pails. Use the Tinker’s workbench to turn them into full Mole Miner Pails and enjoy some on-demand loot. Catch the exact start and end times for the event below, and we hope you’ll join us to collect some Mole Miner Pails this weekend.
